Belrose work precinct opens its doors as South Stage completes

08 February 2023

The Cheltenham-located creative work precinct, Belrose, has reached completion of its first stage, ushering in a new era for architecturally-designed industrial office workspaces as the first wave of community members move in.

Sympathetic to its surrounds, Belrose South comprises 24 office warehouse and showroom spaces crafted by industrial specialists, SDA, with interiors by leading design practice DKO. Lending their high-quality workmanship to help realise a project of this significance and scale, Melbourne-based Clarke Nicholas Construction was appointed as builder.

The result is a seamlessly integrated building that complements and re-energises its heritage setting  with contemporary details and an authentic community centred focus. While businesses like Little Sky Gelato have initially been drawn to Belrose due to its location within the Bayside area, owner Matt Shatkhin identified the development’s design and progressive nature as unique drawcards.

“Not only is it located in a nice suburban part of Cheltenham, which isn’t too industrial, it also seemed unlike any traditional warehouse-type project. There has been more thought put into the design offering of the project,” he says.

Ranging from 141sqm to 281sqm, the South Stage spaces pair the quality and spaciousness of industrial-level warehouses with bespoke amenity and greenspaces, making Belrose well suited to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses.

“We are living in an era of fundamental transformation in the way we work – we are shifting towards valuing authenticity, experience, flexibility, technology, sustainability and wellness, and workplaces need to adapt in order to support this transition to encourage a progressive business environment. Belrose provides unique workspaces that meet the needs of today and tomorrow, catering to many businesses that require flexible space,” says Riverlee development director David Lee.

Developed in collaboration with Brico, the project achieved strong sales success with 100 per cent of the South Stage sold prior to completion. Belrose North is expected for completion in the coming months.
