10 Queen Street welcomes new anchor tenant Best Hooper

05 November 2021

Riverlee is pleased to welcome 10 Queen Street’s new anchor tenant, Melbourne-based planning, property, and land development law firm Best Hooper, who has signed on for a five-year lease.

Establishing its headquarters by taking a full floor on level 12 of the CBD office building, Best Hooper’s team will enjoy spacious offices and meeting spaces, with fit-out completed by Riverlee.

Located in the heart of the CBD’s vibrant retail precinct, 10 Queen Street’s proximity to shops, Flinders Street Station, eateries and convenient amenities make for a dynamic experience as tenants venture from street to desk. The city’s constant revitalisation is reflected in the building’s recent refurbishment, expressing Riverlee’s confidence in CBD offices as people return to work following the pandemic.

“We’re so pleased to welcome Best Hooper, one of Melbourne’s oldest law firms dating back to 1886, to 10 Queen street, a company who will further enrich the vibrant work and community culture of the building,” says Riverlee managing director, Kevin Lee.

“As a landlord, we’re proud to support Best Hooper with modern office spaces and refreshed amenities that will provide an exciting transition back into the office,” says Lee.

The latest anchor tenant to join Riverlee’s asset management portfolio, Best Hooper is set to benefit from the recent injection of capital expenditure in the commercial CBD assets. The site’s refurbishments and upgraded amenities represent Riverlee’s commitment to nurturing long-term tenant relationships, which has remained a priority despite the pandemic’s ongoing challenges.

Joel Snyder, managing principal at Best Hooper says, “It was a pleasure to deal with Riverlee as a tenant-focused landlord who held pride in its own buildings. Being part of a boutique building allows us to have a presence while forming a broader culture with the other tenants.”

Best Hooper was drawn to Level 12 due to the modern fit-out which provided for a flexible working environment with an employee-focused kitchen and other amenities. The firm has undertaken minor additions to the premises to allow for a variety of professional working spaces including for virtual client meetings and online hearings.

Snyder adds, “It was a perfect balance for a refreshing change during uncertain times.”

“We’ve recently injected significant expenditure into refurbishing 10 Queen Street and our other CBD assets for existing and prospective tenants. This initiative was aimed at elevating the workplace experience as tenants seek more from their offices. It’s great to now see this investment paying off,” Lee says.

10 Queen Street is now 98 per cent leased, with Riverlee both attracting and retaining tenants during the pandemic.

We look forward to supporting Best Hooper as they settle into 10 Queen Street, and further developing our relationship with the company as a long-term Riverlee tenant.
